Leaders of the effort to create this new museum in Los Angeles, California, engaged Creative Fundraising Advisors to help re-energize fundraising efforts that were stalled during a staff transition. We discovered that a lack of a road map was at the root of the situation.
We developed a plan to quickly jumpstart the campaign. We identified prospects and naming opportunities, articulated a new and compelling case for community support, built a staffing plan and recruited a new team of fundraisers, and wrote a roadmap for campaign success.
We worked with museum leaders to raise $50 million within three months through naming of the Saban Building. The campaign has nearly reached its $388 million goal and will open in spring 2021. Designed by Pritzker-Prize winner Renzo Piano, the Academy Museum will be the world’s premier institution dedicated to the art and science of movies. The Academy Museum will tell complete stories of moviemaking—celebratory, educational, and sometimes critical or uncomfortable.
