Jensen is an artist, designer, and writer from Winona, Minnesota. He relocated to the Twin Cities when he transferred to the Perpich Arts High School in Golden Valley, where he studied guitar and became involved in the local creative community.
Jensen received his first arts grant, the McKnight Emerging Artist Grant, through the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) while a student in 2013. The funds sponsored him to compose, organize, and perform a classical guitar recital at the Winona Arts Center.
The experience was the beginning of his creative journey—he went on to study Studio Art at Grinnell College in Iowa.
Since graduating in 2017, Jensen has worked as a freelancer, producing graphics, writing and web content for a diverse array of clients.
Past projects include grant proposals, Business-to-Business web content, blogs, social media copy, and branding strategy projects. He’s also worked with rising seniors navigating the college application process as an editor and private writing tutor.
He describes his time at IEA Councils, a Washington D.C. nonprofit geared towards assisting students of East African descent navigate the higher education space, as his most rewarding experience as a freelancer. While there, he worked as an editor and writing coach for students who went on to institutions such as Harvard, Williams, and Cornell.
At CFA, Jensen conducts editing and copywriting services, social media development, and administrative assistance. He’s helped research new software platforms, explored new technologies for outreach and communications, and drafted data visualizations for client presentations.
