CFA has an immediate opening for a Remote Prospect Development Manager, a working manager who will establish strategy, procedures and processes for the areas of prospect research, prospect management, and data analytics, while also providing operational support for client campaign initiatives. Job Duties

  • Establish or evolve prospect development strategy, procedures and processes for prospect research, prospect management and data analytics in support of fundraising
  • Research individuals, corporations and foundations, using online subscription, library and free resources; write synthesized summaries of findings appropriate to the phase of the fundraising cycle
  • Manage and conduct client wealth screen projects, wealth screen validation, and prospect prioritization
  • Analyze client, wealth screen and research data to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, and major gift prospect viability
  • Provide operational support for client campaign initiatives
  • Set up Google alerts for clients and lead prospects; share appropriate information as it arises
  • Upload or enter data into client databases on a rare basis
  • Track and report on all work accomplished
  • Advise CFA staff and clients on prospect development best practices
  • Keep current on new fundraising and prospect development industry practices
  • Act as CFA representative for client meetings where consultants are unavailable
  • Demonstrate poise, effectiveness, and efficiency under pressure
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three or more years of work experience in nonprofit prospect development roles, such as prospect researcher, research analyst or other similar roles
  • Knowledge of current research and wealth screen technologies and usage techniques
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing; ability to analyze and report a wide range of research findings
  • Excellent detail-orientation, exhibiting meticulous attention to quality and accuracy of work completed
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace platforms, as well as email and chat functions
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases, as well as data mining and usage to support fundraising
  • Solid leadership, collaboration and project management skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment that sometimes involves evening or weekend work to meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and demands of the business
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect client information
  • Preferred: Experience working within a consulting firm and with clients
